Can you believe the weather is cooler and the holidays are right around the corner? It’s been a strange year, but we hope that it has been a fruitful one for you as God has continued to draw you closer to Him, no matter what has come your way and no matter what you may be fearing today.
We serve a God who is in control and who saw 2020 coming before the foundations of the earth. Our always active, always listening, all-knowing, all-powerful God has not and will not cease to be in control. To this fact, Matthew 10:29-31 has been so encouraging in this season:
Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? And not one of them will fall to the ground apart from your Father. But even the hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not, therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows.
Our God who governs the sparrows also governs the happenings in our hearts and around our lives, and He is good! We hope you, too, might be encouraged by this truth today.
FEATURED RESOURCE
This month’s featured resource is The Practice of the Presence of God by Brother Lawrence.
Brother Lawrence was a man of humble beginnings who discovered the greatest secret of living in the kingdom of God here on earth. It is the art of “practicing the presence of God in one single act that does not end.” He often stated that it is God who paints Himself in the depths of our souls. We must merely open our hearts to receive Him and His loving presence.

>> SISTERS, YOU HAVE PERMISSION TO LEAD AN ORDINARY LIFE
“Some days it’s exhausting to be a woman. Internally, we feel the reality of not measuring up to our own hopes of being the friend, employee, daughter, wife, or mother we think we should be. Externally, we have so many influencers telling us to make an amazing, groundbreaking difference in the world.
Words meant to inspire often exhaust. Can I borrow a moment of your time to give you (and me) permission to lead a quiet, ordinary life?”
Remaining in God’s presence brings victory over temptation.
Whether we have been feeling lonely, anxious, dealing with anger, or any number of things that may cause us to drift away from God during this time, perhaps we need to be reminded of some basic ways that we can regain a very real sense of God’s presence with us at work or at home.
>> YOU DON’T HAVE TO DO IT ALL
“Jesus’ to-do list seemed never-ending. There was always another needy crowd the next morning. And he left a lot of “unfinished business” behind when he returned to heaven.
Jesus didn’t get it all done – on any given day, or in his lifetime – even though as God, he could have…
This perspective releases us from the paralysis induced by need and ministry overload. The goal of life is not for us to ‘get it all done.’ The goal is to be faithful.”
>> LESSONS FROM ENTREPRENEURS ANYONE CAN USE
“Entrepreneurs unlock potential. They turn ideas into realities, creating jobs and fueling economies. They’re professional problem-solvers.
And following their example can lead your work into new opportunities for success.”
